Filippo SCAMMACCA DEL MURGO set foot for the first time at the Ministry of Justice on Friday 23rd September 2022 at 3pm. After presenting his letter of credence to the Ministry of External Relations and taking office some months ago, the diplomat came to meet the Minister of State, Minister of Justice, Keeper of the Seals, Laurent ESSO.

The encounter which was a contact meeting was also an occasion for the Italian ambassador to Cameroon to transmit to the Keeper of the Seals who was assisted in this audience by Angelina ATABONG and Jean Fils ENOTI of the Department For Human Rights and International Cooperation, the proposition of Scuola Sant’Anna, an Italian school based in Pisa, Italy to train Magistrates at ENAM. This capacity building training session before the end of the year.

The keeper of Seal expressed his interest over this project and welcomed the initiative considering that Italy and Cameroon had long established collaboration and cooperation. He invited Filippo CAMMACCA DEL MURGO to take time and opportunity to learn about Cameroon and its people in order to coin out objectively his proper opinion about the country.

The Ambassador said he would try as much as possible, during his mandate to bring in Italian investors to Cameroon. As such he proposed to link some collaborators of the Minister of State to a non-governmental organisation in Roma that is very concerned with the protection and promotion of the business climate in order to attract entrepreneurs. As an answer to this preoccupation, Laurent ESSO reassured his august guest about the efforts been made in this domain. He emphasized on the modernisation and digitisation of the Commercial Registers. Yaoundé and Douala he said were already modernised.

The Italian Ambassador invited Laurent ESSO to a lyrical opera that would hold in Yaoundé from the 21 to the 22 October 2022 at the Jean Paul II Auditorium to express his sympathy to the Minister of State.
